Project Details

“Su Sporları Merkezi” (Water Sports Center),which has a 6000 square meters indoor area with one 25 meter long six-laned semi-olympic indoor swimming pool, one 250 square meter square and one 25 square meter rehabilitation and entertainment pool, as well as an outdoor swimming pool with 110 square meters of outdoor pool, has been awarded a GOLD level certificate as a result of LEED valuation by applying many green building strategies.

Solar panels are used in the project for pool water heating and electricity generation. Solar panels with a total power of 150 kW are provided in a large part of the roof and 140 thousand kWh of energy is provided annually. In this way, approximately 10% of the annual energy consumption is supplied. Gray water coming from rain water and showers is collected in the building and used again after being purified. In this way, approximately 70% water efficiency and annual water saving of 2500 tons was achieved in the water consumption of the building. The natural light of day is provided by the light tubes opened from the roof.

Thanks to the 11 light tubes that descend 6 meters down the roof, daylight was provided to the areas that has no windows and the lighting energy was saved.
